Marla Langin, Registered Clinical Counsellor, providing trauma-informed counselling in BC

Marla Langin

I offer trauma counselling in Vancouver and BC for adults who are struggling with the impacts of trauma, shame, and relationship challenges. My approach is always trauma-informed and focused on creating a safe space where you can begin to heal. Together, we’ll work on building greater manageability in your day-to-day life and more meaningful connections in your relationships.

Unresolved experiences often linger. As a result, they can shape how we think, feel, and relate, sometimes without us even noticing. Counselling provides a space to explore these patterns with compassion and curiosity. It allows you to understand what is happening now and to imagine new possibilities for the future.

Safety guides my work. I am committed to building a counselling environment where you can feel seen, heard, and respected. In addition, by honouring your story and moving at your pace, we create space for healing.

Life experiences that have not been fully processed continue to show up. For example, they may surface as painful emotions, difficult beliefs, or struggles in relationships. Together, we will explore this “unfinished business” and the role it plays in your current life. Therapy is an opportunity to create new meaning and a place where hope can emerge.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of counselling, I’m a proud dog mom. My sidekick of nine years joins me for camping trips, early morning walks filled with true crime podcasts, and cozy evenings watching Netflix. I deeply value my downtime and opportunities to connect with the important people in my life.

Education & Experience

My professional background blends education with extensive hands-on experience. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and a Master’s degree in Counselling.I spent seven years in youth outreach, supporting youth facing homelessness, substance use, mental health challenges, and sexual exploitation. More recently, I’ve worked in adult forensic services and in residential addiction treatment programs for youth and adults living with concurrent disorders. This combination of education and experience helps me understand a wide range of challenges that may connect to your story.

Even one conversation can spark clarity and hope. If you’re seeking trauma counselling in Vancouver or BC, I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you explore healing and change.
